Welcome to Toastmasters
- Why join? Join a group of people who want to improve their public speaking and leadership skills in a friendly, supportive environment.
- How does it work? Members volunteer to take on speaking or functional roles at each meeting.
A Typical Meeting
- All meetings are open to the public.
- Main elements: 3 or 4 prepared speeches of 5-7 minutes each, about 4-6 unprepared speeches of 1-2 minutes, evaluation of speeches and meeting roles. All members attending a meeting are encouraged to take a role in the meeting. A Toastmaster is chosen before each meeting to lead the meeting.
